Year end MRM Train the Trainer in Singapore

The Academy culminated the calendar year 2019 with an MRM train the trainer event in Singapore. During this course, a small group of five people from three companies gathered to share ideas and exchange experiences related to human factors and MRM. One of the participants was Rory Main from the Fremantle Maritime Simulator Centre in Australia, who has been a passionate supporter of the MRM programme in the early days when the BRM/MRM training started. He attended the event for a refresher while the rest of group came to be certified as MRM Facilitators. They are Mr. Dapeng Zhang and Ms. Sijia Zhang both representing Singapore (Nantong) International Maritime Institute, Mr. Goh Boon Leng and Mr. Sam Abey who represented ST Education and Training in Singapore. The event took place at M Hotel Singapore on December 4, 2019.

It has been a very productive year for ALL Academy and its clients and we want to thank each and everyone for your continued support to the MRM programme! We look forward to working with you all in 2020!

MRM Facilitator Event in Manila

ALL Academy conducted another MRM Facilitator training on April 23, 2019 which was held at Holiday Inn Express in Manila. This is to accommodate the request of one of our training providers in the Philippines who wanted a few of their facilitators to undergo the training and be certified. As a result, another company sent their representatives to complete this training’s batch.

ALL Academy Conducts MRM Event in Singapore

The MRM Facilitator training events are filling-up this year’s schedule for ALL Academy. The second train the trainer event for 2019 was conducted at the Furama RiverFront on February 21 where 9 participants were trained. The participants represented 4 companies with different backgrounds which made the discussions interesting during the training. ALL Academy is happy with the result of the event and is very thankful for the all-out support of its clients especially in Singapore. We are looking forward to more events in the area.

Maritime Safety Seminar for Shipping Companies in Singapore

We were not surprised that a “maritime safety seminar for shipping companies aiming at zero insurance claims” should attract a large number of safety-oriented people in Singapore. We spent half a day at the Furama RiverFront hotel on November 7, 2016 discussing contributing factors in accidents, the impact of national and company culture, pilotage issues and how we best increase safety, efficiency and job satisfaction in our shipping companies. Many good ideas and comments came from the highly experienced participants, many of them in top management positions.

Back to Singapore for a Two-Day E-Learning Workshop

Continuing with the success of the online training and E-Learning workshop, ALL Academy is back in Singapore with two back to back e-learning workshops on March 3-4, 2016.  This is only the second and third workshop outside of Sweden but we hope to have many others in the future.  After the conclusion of the workshop on March 4, we now have a total of 11 E-Learning Workshops since we started in the autumn of 2015. After the workshop on 4 March we have now certified 193 participants through online training and workshops. This is a positive step in the direction that we hope to expand on more in the future.

Back to Back Open Seminars

Open Seminar in Bangkok

ALL Academy goes to Bangkok for an Open Seminar which is part of the MRM Asian Tour. This is the 2nd open event under the tour where a half-day Brief Introduction to MRM is given to participating delegates coming from the Maritime branch in the region. The seminar took place at FX Hotel Metrolink Makkasan, 57 Asoke – Dindaeng Rd., Makkasan, Bangkok on 10 February 2016.

The important topics discussed were: what is MRM and why we need MRM, most expensive P&I claims, important assets for safety and efficiency, human error and the SHELL model. Even with a small group, the discussions was very interesting and ALL Academy is pleased to have been in Bangkok this year.

Another Open Seminar in Singapore

Singapore is one of the focal locations in Asia being the world’s biggest bunkering hub and one of the top Maritime cities in the world. This is one of the reasons why MRM events are held in Singapore at least twice a year. As part of the MRM Asian Tour 2016, ALL Academy has successfully conducted another MRM Open Seminar at the Royal Plaza on Scotts Hotel on 11 February 2016 following the event in Bangkok. This time, the group was composed of 15 participants from 10 companies.

PSAM Academy in Singapore Hosts MRM Facilitator Training Event

PSAM Academy hosted a MRM Facilitator Training Course on 6 October 2015 at their institution in Singapore. A total of 22 participants attended the training course which composed of prospective facilitators and already certified facilitators who took the course as a refresher. This event did not only gave PSAM Academy the chance to increase their number of in-house trained facilitators but it also gave other companies in the area the chance to do the same.  Having more than one or several Certified Facilitators gives companies more possibilities for holding MRM courses and does not limit the courses to one person’s schedule or availability.

ALL Academy is grateful for the support that PSAM Academy has given to the MRM Programme!

PSA Marine in Singapore to offer MRM training

PSA Marine (Pte) Ltd in Singapore has decided to offer MRM courses to its clients. On 9 January 2015, the company signed an MRM licence and support agreement with ALL Academy International AB. The MRM training will be delivered through PSAM Academy which is the training arm of PSA Marine. PSAM Academy offers courses in practical pilotage, ship-handling, shipboard emergencies, crisis management, tug handling and other marine related subjects for the maritime industry.
