You are cordially invited to the GRM Trainer Refresher Seminar 2023 in Manila. Main topics for the Refresher Seminar 2023 are:

We are happy to have Capt Antonio Di Lieto joining us via online link at the seminar. Capt Di Lieto is the author of the book “Diligent Pilotage – Lessons Learned from the Jolly Nero”, published in 2022. The Jolly Nero accident in the port of Genoa in 2013 cost the lives of nine people and resulted in the criminal conviction of the Jolly Nero’s Captain, Chief Engineer and First Officer. With regard to the criminal conviction, Capt Di Lieto says in his book: “All this has important implications for BRM: cooperation is not an option, but a legal obligation for the master, the pilot and all those operating on the bridge.” No doubt, we will have a most interesting discussion with Capt Di Lieto on March 8th.

Attendance at a refresher seminar will be required at least every third year for GRM Trainers in order to maintain the validity of the GRM Trainer Certificate and access to the Academy WebPortal. This requirement will ensure that GRM Trainers are kept up to date about the current course material and latest facilitation techniques. Furthermore, the seminars will help us develop the course in the right direction and, ultimately, ensure best possible results for our learners.

The intention is to offer the Refresher Seminar 2023 in various geographical locations during the year, primarily where we have a large number of certified trainers. It will also be offered online for those who cannot attend a physical event. For the first physical Refresher Seminar 2023, we wish you a warm welcome in Manila!

Date and time: Wednesday, 8 March  2023, 09:00 – 17:00.

Venue: Nautilus Pacific Maritime Training Center Inc., 7th Floor, East Tower, 8912, Building Aseana Ave, Aseana City, Parañaque, Metro Manila, Philippines. Pay parking is available in the basement at PHP 25 for the first hour, then PHP 10 per succeeding hour.

Invited: Certified GRM Trainers (previously called MRM Facilitators) working for licensed GRM/MRM course providers.

Seminar fee: USD 400 per participant. (Due to short notice, all participants will receive a 20% discount on the original seminar fee of USD 500.) The fee includes the programme, coffee/tea breaks, lunch and a concluding informal dinner. Participants will, upon successful completion of the seminar, receive a GRM Trainer Refresher Seminar Certificate and an extended validity of their GRM Trainer Certificate until 2027.
