…and then to Gdynia Maritime University

The second stop in Poland was made at the Gdynia Maritime University.  Gdynia Maritime University is the largest state school of higher maritime education in Poland and one of the largest in Europe. Since 1920 the University has prepared graduates for officer positions on board merchant marine vessels and for positions ashore. The University’s four faculties offer degree in Navigation, Marine Engineering, Marine Electrical Engineering and Business Administration. At present Gdynia Maritime University provides studies for 8 000 students.

Visit to the Maritime University of Szczecin…

A quick summer tour to Poland included visits to two of Europe’s major maritime universities. The first stop was made on 21 July at the Maritime University of Szczecin.  The university was founded in 1947 and accommodates 4 000 students in three faculties – Faculty of Navigation, Faculty of Marine Engineering and Faculty of Economics and Transport Engineering.
